No Service on iPhone 3G after unlock

Hello, I just bought an iPhone on ebay and it came in the mail today. I have t-mobile, so I followed directions to unlock and jailbreak it. I used redsn0w to jailbreak and purplesn0w to unlock since ultrasn0w kept saying "No repository found" in cydia. But when I put in my T-Mobile sim, it says no service on the top and I can't make any calls , any help is much appreciated.

I thought Purplesn0w didn't work with 3.0?

I used that because of the repository of ultrasn0w being down, but I tried it again this morning and it works good(ultra) and Im good.

can't you just use redsn0w to unlock and jailbreak it?

unless redsnow doesn't work with 3G or 3GS

redsn0w only Jailbreaks, it does NOT unlock.

but i unlocked the 2G... not the 3G..
