No signal after upgrading to jailbroken 3.1

Hi, basically i had a 3.01 iphone 3gs which i jailbroke then i unlocked it with Purplesnow. It was all working fine and then i decided to upgrade to the new 3.1. I followed the tutorial on iClarified and everything went fine, but now my phone has no service in the top left corner, so i cant make or receive calls, making it not a phone anymore! What can i do to fix this? I have tried the original sim card and other sim cards and nothing works.

P.S. Is my phone still unlocked as i upgraded to 3.1 (through jailbreak not through itunes).

sorry im new here, i searched but this thing didnt come up. Anyway im on o2 as well in the UK, so i read your thread, what am i supposed to do reflash it with a different firmware? What's that and how do i do it, im a proper noob when it comes to iphones.

Please can someone give me step by step easy instructions? I need the phone to be working today.

Pay close attention to - The General settings allows you to decide the partition size. Check Activate the phone if you are not with an official carrier then click the blue arrow button.

As your on o2 you need to untick the Activate phone setting.

Yes im on o2, but i want it still to be unlocked for when i go abroad and use a different sim card.
how big should i make the partition size and what is it for?
 
Sorry this is the relevant bit - Check Activate the phone if you are not with an official carrier then click the blue arrow button.

(Leave the partition size as default)
 
ok as i am with an official carrier i didn't check activate the phone, i did the restore again and it still didn't work. I still have no service with o2 and with any other sim card. So should i check the activate box?


edt. ok so i did check the activate box this time and i restored it and it's still got no service. WHat should i do?

I had the same problem but I think it's because I upgraded my 3G to 3.1 on the day it was released so the baseband was upgraded. I have tried to use pwnage three different times and each time, the 3G has no signal. I now have 3.1 on the 3G again but no jailbreak. I gave up on trying to jailbreak it.

I used pwnage on my 3GS yesterday and it worked perfectly except my battery dropped 50% in just nine hours. I may downgrade it back to 3.0 if this continues, I can do that thanks to Cydia.
