but there is signal if I boot with another display over DVI while DP is unplugged, then plug DP back after OSX is booted. The last few changes would be enabling Filevault and enabling TRIM. I am not sure these are causing this problem though.
P.S. I tried COMMAND+OPTION+P+R already. I also tested the cable with the display and a surface pro and it works fine. I don't know what changed. This setup has been working for a few days since I newly install this computer.
