I didn't check out my available storage right before installing 9, for comparison's sake (should have done so) - but I was expecting the update to free up a few gigs of space, based on reports that iOS 9 uses 1.3GB, vs. 4.6GB for iOS 8.
And yet, it looks like my Used / Available breakdown is roughly what it was before (again, as a caveat, I didn't do a strict A / B - but I certainly didn't gain 3.3 GB).
What is the takeaway here?
