After upgrading, I have had trouble with sound output not working via both bluetooth and the 1/8 / headphone jack.

I have a Bose SLIII speaker connected (although I had the same trouble with another speaker I tested it with as well). It used to work just fine via bluetooth or the jack, either way. After update, it has occasionally worked, but usually wont be connected. The sound icon at the top appears greyed out and it can't connect via bluetooth, even though it sees the device!

The only solution I can find is to unplug the jack from the back of my Mac Mini and plug it back in and it enables the speaker. ( unplugging it at the speaker side didn't help )

Maybe this helps if your running into the same issue. I doubt I am the only one this is affecting. I already submitted a bug report to apple on it ( just through their contact form through, I am not sure if there was a better way )

The same happens to me since day 1 of Yosemity. I still can't find any other solution. It's very annoying because it also disables sound after some idle time not just after waking up from sleep.

Just updated to OSX 10.10.1

I think this issue was addressed as it seems to have returned to normal functionality.
