i'm also experiencing this problem, the internal speakers disappeared from output and the mic also disappeared from the inputs. The startup sound works and I can connect my bluetooth speaker. any ideas?

oh dear this is the killer for me too, updated to DP6 and no sound, in the audio prefs initially it works with the internal speaker only, if I select anything else it all goes silent, no headphone out - nish, it's the one thing that means I have to go straight back to Mavericks unfortunately :(

Peace

Look in Macintosh HD >Library>Audio>Plug-ins>HAL

There very well could be outdated drivers in there.

This was a problem when the beta first came out but was fixed by Rogue Amoeba.

Update any audio plug-ins.

soundflower etc..

Audio Hijack..

How to update them ?

Look in Macintosh HD >Library>Audio>Plug-ins>HAL

There very well could be outdated drivers in there.

This was a problem when the beta first came out but was fixed by Rogue Amoeba.

i found four folders in >Library>Audio>Plug-ins>HAL

AirPlay.driver\AppleAVBAudio.driver\BluetoothAudioPlugIn.driver\iSightAudio.driver

Are there any missing files ? how can i know if they outdated drivers ?

THANKS

Another app to check settings in is Midi Settings. I've found sometimes just toggling different settings for the sampling rate can correct bugs with the audio for my USB interface under Yosemite.
