Hi all, Long time member not a frequent poster.

i have an issue with my Macbook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo.

I purchased and downloaded the Mountain lion from the mac store, however after installation i have had no problems but ONE.

My internal speakers does not work natively with my OSX.

Surprisingly VLC does somehow get my speakers to work, however it is at a much lower volume then previously.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Go to System Preferences -> Sound and make sure "Internal Speakers" is selected under "Output".

I had this issue too when I installed ML on one of my Macs, and for some reason it had randomly flipped to using Airplay for sound output.

Unknown if this will work for you but I had some issues with my MacMini speakers not working, and had to do a Reset PRAM and NVRAM, and it worked...

This should reset the system to its default values

1. Shut the system down

2. Locate the Command - Option - P - R key

3. Press and hold those keys together upon boot up

4. You will hear the startup sound twice.

5. Release the keys after the second startup sound
