I upgraded to DP3 on my iMac, and after the update my mac doesn't recognize any form of audio output. The speakers work, because the mac chime plays on bootup, but even when headphones are plugged into the audio jack, it won't recognize them. I even went into the setting pane to see if i could do anything but it show no output devices. Can someone help?

Can you see if Apple hda is loaded? Type this into the terminal:
kextstat | grep HDA

If it's not loaded, then repair disk permissions and do this:
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel && sudo kextcache -system-caches

If you had Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil installed prior to the upgrade, than that is your issue. Delete the instant.on sound driver from the system, and your sound will immediately work (without reboot).
