No sound!

Ok my Macbook Pro's (C2D 2.33GHZ Stock) sound just wont play. If I press the buttons to turn up or down the sound it comes up with the Not Permitted symbol below the pop up thing! No sound or anything is working nor in windows.. Help! I am also trying to play music in iTunes but the song location bar just doesnt work.

Check the system preferences to see if you have the right output selected? Have you restarted?

Yep and I think it is and I just rebooted no luck going to try again..

Any way for you to post a screenshot of the image you're getting when it happens?

I rebooted again and its working now.. It was like

underneath the speaker on the

thing.. if you get what I mean..

Also take a look in your audio out port and see if a little red light is on or maybe flashing
