I wanted to buy a 1,83GHz 17" iMac, and I need a SuperDrive, but it looks like the SuperDrive option has been removed from the options list for this computer. Looks like I have to either buy a refurb, or move up to the 2.0GHz.
I can only assume that this is a marketing decision, but I don't like it.

The 1.83 Ghz model is basically the Edu model. The previous 1.83 Ghz model with superdrivecost $1299, the newer 2.0Ghz model costs $1199. So they dropped the price of the model you were interested in by $100, switched to a faster processor platform and added .17Ghz. You can't really complain about that, can you?!!

Yeah, I guess you're right. I think I am going to set my sights on the 2.0GHz or the 2.16 with 1 or 2 GB Ram. I'm sure I'll be happy either way, but I do need a DVD burner and would rather not have to go with an external. I was just pinching pennies anyway.
