Can somebody confirm that this TM function was removed from Big Sur?
(I don't have Big Sur installation at hand.)

Practical meaning: you accidentally deleted ONE mail 3 months ago, that you should have saved.

Before: Half a minute to entern TM in Mail and find the email and restore it.

After: Half a day to go buy another storage and restore the whole installation from TM backup, just to restore this one mail...

Yes,
I know I'm the "rebel one" to complain these kind of things, I should be thankful for Apple to silently remove these features, so we wouldn't worry about them. Because knowledge increases pain and Apple is all about decreasing the pain.

Yeah I got caught out after deleting an email by mistake. It would seem that function has been removed from TM.

I'm honestly beginning to wonder what the point of TM is now - it hasn't done anything useful for me in years.

My father has a Catalina installed.
I briefly tested the TM function in Catalina's Mail.
It showed the "portal" UI, but no mails appeared to Mail window after a brief waiting.
The mac has been backed up by TM for several times and it shows lots of dates on the right side, but no mail appear in the window.
Main inbox says at the top 34k mails.

And your OS is?

I'm now on Monterey, but it was quite a while ago I had the problem so I think I was on either Big Sur or Catalina.

Sorry not to be more specific, but at some point Mail backups seem to have been removed from MacOS.
