No verification codes in iOS 17

I’m setting up my new iPhone 15, but when I got to the point where it wanted me to sign with my iTunes Apple ID (I have separate iCloud and iTunes accounts), I didn't get the verification code popup on my other devices. Eventually I chose send to phone and the verification just disappeared. I have no idea if verification codes are broken in iOS 17 or something is odd as part of the migration process.

If you’re in the Setup Wizard and have a verification code sent via SMS to that device, the wizard sees it come in the background & just accepts it, and moves on. Sounds like that might be what you experienced?

Maybe.

I tried later to log into the Apple website and some devices got codes and others didn’t. I tried again and they all did, so maybe something was buggy with iCloud.

Considering none of my recovery contacts are showing up on my new phone, I’m guessing it’s iCloud.
