Vevo, music videos, (the ones produced officially by the studios) are one of the best parts of youtube. Unfortunately, they've blocked access to users of the AppleTV. I'm guessing by using the AppleTV's user-agent string.

Anyone know of a work around? Any news about this?

There is no workaround that I am aware of. Those videos can't be viewed on 3rd party devices that use the Youtube API. They can only be viewed on the Youtube website.

You might be able to jailbreak an iPhone/iPod/iPad, install AirVideoEnabler, and use the VEVO iOS app to Airplay the videos to the Apple TV but they're not gonna play from the Youtube app.
