My visual voicemail seems to be working fine, with the exception of not receiving notifications that I actually have a voicemail....no audible alert and nothing on the screen, all I have is a badge on the phone app. Any ideas?

no voice mail alert with 3.1.2 jailbreak???

Go to settings/sounds/New voicemail and flip the switch off then back on. You should hear the sound if it's working.
At least that is the sound that should be sent.
