In the past OS, when you go into Settings, Notifications, and pick a specific app that you receive notifications for, there was the option to "Include" a certain amount. For Apps such as ESPN or any of the News aggregation apps, you could easily see 100 notifications a day, so limiting to only show the most recent 5 was extremely helpful to keep the Notification Center clean. I can't find this "Include" option anywhere in iOS 9, so my Notification Center seems to keep scrolling forever! Has anyone come across this, or a way to limit how many show? I've attached screenshots of the old and new screens.

Yeah, "interestingly" enough, in iOS 9 (at least so far) Apple got rid of the option to limit notifications to 1, or 5, or 10, like they used to have.

I've been looking for any word on why they got rid of this feature or anything online to confirm that I'm not the only one who noticed this was gone and this is the first thing I've seen on the internet about this issue. Ridiculous. I need this function back so I'm not scrolling through pages of notifications. Good luck to you.

Yup, Apple seems to have removed this without a word anywhere. not many people talking about it either. was pretty useful IMO.

I've noticed this as well since testing the iOS 9 betas. So annoying not having this option. hopefully they bring it back!

Have you all disabled the option to group notifications per app? It was my understanding that you can limit the number when that option is enabled. I actually quite like the idea of showing all unread notifications when that is turned off, because you will have a chronologic overview of everything you haven’t clicked on. I never saw the point of restricting the number of items in the first place.

Doesn't seem like the options are there no matter which sorting or grouping is selected.

That’s indeed… well stupid. That sounds terribly impractical. I always found it odd that Apple never gave an option to ‘drill down’ into notifications per app and only show the most recent ones in a category. Instead they limited the number of recent notifications overall.

Apple tends to "think different" and act odd when it comes to randomly changing or removing a very useful feature like this.

If one just gets into acceptance that Apple's neither logical or willing to be consistent then you get used to their odd duck choices.

Well, it was per app. Perhaps with the new grouping and sorting options they didn't quite figure out a good way to do it, or simply omitted it without really realizing it (and perhaps might bring it back, at least for some grouping/sorting methods). Either way hopefully they'll bring it back in some form.

I use piazza app, and one week, I intentionally leave that app generating notifications, and it ends up leaving an ultra long list of notifications in NC.

I don't kind living without that option, but it would be great if Apple brings it back.

yes I can see the limit per app not making quite as much fluid sense when notifications are grouped by day rather than app as before. you would get notifications clearing in the middle of the list as new notifications came in, which doesn't feel quite right.

and equally only showing the option within each app setting when grouping by app seems a bit clunky and confusing too.

so I suspect like cd m it was dropped with the new group option due to these complications

I would personally appreciate at least a top level setting controlling all apps, which will appear/disappear below the group option as that changes. A limitless option would be available in addition to 1, 5, 10

I'm getting so fed up of the sheer number of news notifications I receive I may turn notifications off completely.

Stupid idea to remove this option from notifications.
