No white borders!

I have a 10.5 inch iPad Pro and although it’s still too soon for me to upgrade, I just hope by the time it comes there are white screen borders as an option. I like the white and feel an emotional connection to white Apple products as when I was a kid and first got into Apple, the Snow White G3 was on display at the Apple Stores and I fell in love. Plus the black, while cool and sleek, look very serious. I like having fun!

Thoughts?

I think that would defeat the while idea of the new iPad trying to show a all glass appearance. The last thing Apple would want to do is highlight still how large the bezels are on the new iPad. IMO they are still bigger than I expected, was hoping more like the iPhone XS where its almost to the edges.

Black bezels on devices are good for iPhones, but when it comes to larger tablets, they make it look generic, like old Samsung devices.

I like the white bezels because, to me, it’s so much easier on the eyes than the bold black. Someone earlier made a good point about Apple wanted to “hide” the FaceID/Camera sensors, but I don’t think they would stand out a ton. I also like how the white bezels fade off when viewing my iPad in the dark.

I will say I used to like the white bezel of my gold iPhone 6, but since I switched (dare I say, upgraded) to the space gray iPhone SE, I like the black bezels on that little guy better.

To each their own, but I do like choices, and we all have our own preferences.

With all the FaceID components, there would be so many black dots all over it.

I actually kinda wish I had ordered silver because I didn't realize they went back to black fronts. Makes sense but I was trying to order quickly. Why do I want it? It looks like my original iPad which I adore.

There’s already a black dot for the camera on the current iPads with white bezels. I’ve never noticed it.

I don’t even notice the TouchID button either.

No, there would be a lot of black dots. Maybe even on multiple sides with the landscape support. Not certain how that works. Face ID has multiple components.

I never said there would not be a lot of black dots. I said I don’t notice anything that is in the white bezels.

Yeah I was just confused by what you said because with a lot of dots you would likely notice it. Especially because I don't think they're likely to be symmetrical and vary in size.
 
Behold! There is still hope for us!
I have the XS Max and that one has the black borders, and I just bought a glass screen protector that will cover the black borders! since the screen is flat, it should be easy to install and it should stay put (unlike curved glass- note 8 lol)

I believe I can. This thing only came out in 2017, it still works like a charm and it has already the gestures which is the MOST crucial part of this whole game.

I appreciate that some people like white dominant design elements, but from a personal aesthetic viewpoint I never have for technology. I'm never turning off macOS Mojave's Dark Mode after waiting so long for it – it makes every day blissful. ^ ^
