Title says it all. I have no Wi-Fi and Bluetooth after updating to 3.0. Under Wifi menu it says "No Wi-Fi" and I can't click it and under Bluetooth it says "Not Available" and I also can't click it. I also have no MAC adresses under About in General. WTF?! :(

i'm having the exact same issue, i've tried everything. I guess i'll have to head up to the apple store next week.

Resolution

First, sync your iPhone or iPod touch to iTunes in order to backup your user info, Contacts, Calendar, and other data. Then, try the following steps in order.

Step One

On the device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Check to see if the device now displays the Wi-Fi address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address). If there is a Wi-Fi Address, then you're done with these steps and can resync your settings and your media using iTunes.

If there's still no Wi-Fi Address, then continue to Step Two.

Step Two

On the device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Check to see if the device now displays the Wi-Fi address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address). If there is a Wi-Fi Address, then you're done with these steps and can resync your settings and your media using iTunes.

If there's still no Wi-Fi Address, then continue to Step Three.

Step Three

1. Restore the iPhone or iPod touch software (this erases all data on the device) using iTunes (see article 305744 for additional assistance).
2. After the restore is complete, sync your previous settings (mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, etc.).
3. Now verify if your device shows a Wi-Fi address (tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to Wi-Fi Address).

If there is a Wi-Fi address, then you're done with these steps. If there is no Wi-Fi address, then continue to Step Four.

Step Four

If there is no Wi-Fi address listed after doing the above steps, then your iPhone or iPod touch may need to be repaired. See the iPhone Service FAQ or iPod Service FAQ for additional service information.

Now I am on step four... :D Actually it's not funny at all!

Me too, same issue. How about Step One, get an Apple Genius bar appt and make them give me a new phone cuz they F----in screwed up my current one with the Lame a-- 3.0 update!!!

^ Exactly. My phone is 4 days old, I got is as replacement on Sunday and they already fu**ed it up.

Macrumors.com you should put this on the first page. This update is really cool and I am thankful Apple. Now I can throw away my iPhone. I use WiFi everyday.

So turns out my hardware was corrupted by the 3.0 update as I thought. I rec'd my 6th 3G phone yesterday from the Geniuses. Happy about the outcome, bummed on the full day wasted on restoring, updating, and more restoring!

This is strange, I have a greyed out wifi but my bluetooth works fine..

I upgraded to 3.0 on Wednesday evening. Yesterday, wifi stopped working. The iphone can find the network as before, it just won't connect or when it does, it doesn't stay connected to it for more than a few seconds. Haven't checked bluetooth, but absolutely everything else seems to be working without a hitch. It's "just" the wifi.

Follow up to my post: couldn't connect to any wifi networks. Phoned O2, who asked me to check with the broadband providers that there was no problem there. They'd had one earlier call about this problem.

Did that and, as expected, everything was fine with the broadband. Headed to an O2 store this morning. Very friendly but not much help. Someone else had been in reporting this, but their advice to both of us was to go to the Apple Store as O2 would only be able to send the phone away to them anyway for possible repair.

Arrived at the Apple Store (Glasgow) with no Genius appointment and was placed on standby for a gap in the schedule. I was warned that it could take up to 3 hours to be seen, but would likely be a lot less than that. Five minutes later, someone came to deal with it. Checked the phone, saw the problem, immediately offered to replace it. 20 minutes later I was on my way home with a new 3G phone, activated in the store and upgraded to 3.0 by the staff who then checked that the wifi was working this time before I left the store.

Really very hard to fault them for the service they provided. In fact, they were great. Best of luck to everyone else in getting matters resolved as quickly and painlessly.
