I'm wondering the benefits of the 6ghz band when 5-10 feet away and wall penetration.
The main point of the 6ghz band is to avoid the interference from other devices. In a big apartment building, for example, you could have tons of devices trying to use the same frequencies you are, especially if you want to use the 160hz bandwidth that Wifi 6 allows for maximum speed. Without 6E, you only have one 160hz channel that can be used, but with 6E, you get like 9 of them, or 18 80hz channels at half bandwidth. It gets especially bad if you live within a few miles of an airport (like me), the single 160hz channel of plain Wifi 6 is shared with weather and military radars, and if the device detects a real radar using the frequencies, it immediately disconnects.
