My wife's phone (8gig 3g phone) has had some battery drain / missed calls issues. I backed it up, turned it on and off and will restore it shortly.

Thing is, I noticed in the settings menu that WiFi couldn't be turned on or off. It just says No WiFi where I would tap to change the settings.

Anyone seen this before? Why wouldn't I even be able to get into the WiFi settings?

Yes

Aparently the modem was bad in the phone, and so it kept resetting itself. In that process you can't choose wifi until it is reset. Basically, get a new phone under your warranty. The hardware is bad.
