Hello everyone
I have recently purchased an ATI Radeon HD 5770 for my Mac Pro 1,1. Under OSX (10.6.8) it works just fine, quiet as a mouse. Under Windows 7 64-bit, however, it's a different story. The fan on the graphics card seems to be putting in a lot of extra effort, it's actually quite loud and distracting.
I have installed Bootcamp 3, or rather, the version that comes with the retail version of Snow Leopard and generally everything is working perfect, even though technically the 64-bit version of W7 is not supported on this model.
Looking under the Screen Resolution properties I am only given the choice to go up to 1152 x 864 so clearly something is amiss here.
My question to all those out there is am I able to update these drivers direct from the manufacturers website without screwing anything Bootcamp-related up? Will that even help reduce the fan noise?
Thanks for your advice.
