Microsoft is selling the Nokia Lumia 520/521 (AT&T and T-Mo) phones again for $59 (AT&T) and $69 (T-Mo) off-contract prices. This does not mean 'unlocked'. They are still locked to that carrier. Also remember, that these phones are upgradable to the latest updates to the phone, but due to limited hardware, may not get all the features. (Same with apps. Some apps require 1GB of RAM. These only have 512MB.) Still, these little phones are great starter phones and for the price, you can't complain. Only thing close would be the Moto G on Verizon for $99.

Great phone. I've had it before and it's beyond a steal for those prices!

I would recommend everyone get one if you want to try out Windows Phone. This phone is cheap but awesome!

525 with 1GB RAM is coming soon. So they're pretty much trying to clear inventory.

I'm dumping AT&T next month for TMo (after the announcement today at CES) and gonna pick up a 1020 (or whatever TMo's equivalent is). I like the 520, but I want all the bells and whistles, especially the features coming with 8.1.

I couldn't do it. I could live with either of them for the price obviously along with the cheap one I bought which I feel is a great bargain but it isn't Windows, that being the Moto G.

To try Windows, I went with the Asus T100. I know it isn't a phone but Windows on a small device like a phone just wouldn't cut it for me.

Understandable. Both the Moto G and 520/521 are great devices for testing and are great devices for their price considering what we've seen in the past.

The Asus T100 is probably the best of both worlds for Windows 8. Keyboard and trackpad when you need it and touch when you need it. Windows Phone is different than Windows 8, they aren't the same product.
