Nokia stops developing HERE maps on WP, Microsoft takes over

Nokia will no longer be updating the HERE mapping and navigation apps on the Windows phone platform. Although originally created by Nokia, the map data has now been licensed by Microsoft, who will now be updating the app instead.

On the other hand, Nokia has no plans of abandoning HERE maps but will instead be moving to greener pastures. The company already hasan Android app and will be launching a new HERE maps and navigation app on iOS early next year. The WP app, however, is entirely Microsoft's business now.

Been using HERE maps on Android for about a month now from the Galaxy App Store. Offline maps and usage is just as good as it is on WP.
