I've been looking at the Nomad Leather Bands..specifically with black hardware for my SG Series 2.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and could possibly offer a bit of insight as to whether they're worth it or not.

They've got a new one posted to the website that can be had for a little more than $50 - which doesn't break the bank - just want to save myself the potential order/check it/return it/wait for refund cycle that I've been through a few too many times.

Thanks!

Clockwork Synergy has leather bands with black hardware that are really nice. I've ordered three bands from them. One was $44, and the other two were on sale for $22 and $16.

The quality of the bands is very good as well as the hardware.

I had a Nomad rev 1 and it is made from excellent Italian leather. Now they have a different leather by Horween, which gives the band a complete different look as mine.

I gave it to my son as I did not like the big buckle at all. The buckle looks Panerai like which is not my taste..

I could buy it with discount otherwise I consider this band ($ 150.00) way to expensive. Rev 1 was made in China and some knock offs are much cheaper. Check Amazon...

So nice leather but for a (Hand ?) Made in China Product ways to expensive..... But to be honest I don't know where the current Nomad bands are made.....

Also check this out as you clearly can see the custom adapters, which I personally don't like

i was at best buy today and they had a nomad strap that was open. it wasn't the exact one that's currently on their website but the strap i checked out definitely had metal lugs/buckle. it would be unusual for them to not include a metal buckle on their new strap but i guess i'll find out once mine gets here

Is it really plastic?

Personally, I don't think the large lugs mesh well with the AW case. Nor am I a fan of Pre-V buckles, but YMMV.
I can not confirm it is a plastic buckle but the redditor says it. :(

EDIT: I asked @nomadgoods at Twitter about the plastic buckle as I can't believe it myself

EDIT 2: after 22 hours @nomadgoods seems not interested in answering my question on Twitter.

Loving the classic buckle :)

We ALL love the Classic Buckle. I got them this week as rev. 3 in Saddle Brown, Red, Midnight Blue and Black an gave a rev 2 Saddle Brown and Black to my son.

For me the biggest surprise is the red one :)

Loving my black 3rd edition and can't wait to get my Marine Blue and Storm Grey on my birthday on Friday.
Need to keep my eye out for a 3rd edition Saddle Brown on eBay.

OT It might be inappropriate to talk here about the Classic Buckle but I still hesitate on the Sea Blue.

Here https://superphen.co/2016/10/02/comparing-the-three-generations-of-apples-classic-buckle-watch-band/ I like it but here http://imgur.com/gallery/9Lepn and here http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MNKW2AM/A/42mm-sea-blue-classic-buckle the colour is so different and less to my taste. So I love to see more photo's :)

I agree. I'm looking forward to seeing the Marine Blue as that looks different in every pic too

Thanks for all the input.

I would love to just fork over the $ for the Apple leather band - just that I don't know how the plain stainless lugs/buckle would look on an aluminum SG watch.

Hoping the new nomad modern with black hardware will be a good fit. Waiting for it to get here..

Personally I am not a big fan of mixing materials but in your case it would only be visible at the adapters. So please show us lots of photos if you have it.

BTW interesting Nomad went from selling $150 bands to $60 bands and even cheaper. Also see here https://www.hellonomad.com/collections/outlet some old stock with big discount :)

will do.

They still have their $150 offering in the newer model - has stitching and what looks like a beefier band and the buckle has a more pronounced shape.

I just wish Apple would offer a leather band that was more suited for the gray watches...maybe I'm missing something somewhere.

Sorry, yes you are right on the $150,00 classic model. Bit of an expensive stitching here ;)

On the aluminium space grey: Do you have the Apple black nylon already ? IMHO it i s great combo and also on the SB SS.

Even cheap watches have metal hardware, that's why it sounds odd to me, and worth waiting for verification. Generic, unsigned metal buckles can be had for a couple bucks each at retail, so it's not like they're a high cost component.

I question whether a brand that goes to the trouble to spec their own lugs, source Horween leather and position themselves as a nicer option would resort to such a thing, but you never know...perhaps those upgrades only apply to their new line.

I have tried putting the apple classic buckle brown leather into the aluminium space grey watch v2 at the apple store when I was buying the apple watch.

It looks pretty damn good actually. I really like the look.

However the price of the leather band is pretty high. I'm in Sydney and it cost AUD 230.. So looking for an alternative that gives the same comfort and looks at cheaper price.

Here's my photo of Sea Blue I just received yesterday. See post 7133. BTW, it's a beautiful color.

check here https://superphen.co/2016/01/30/rev...assic-buckle-15-us-itunes-gift-card-giveaway/ to read on a Classic Buckle knock off. Yet this is about the gen. 2 CB which did not have any stitching yet. Gen. 3 does https://superphen.co/2016/10/02/comparing-the-three-generations-of-apples-classic-buckle-watch-band/

also a great blog on bands :)
