Would still love to know will it scratch the watch or band because of being metal. It should have a scratch proof coating of some sort, in my opinion that won't scratch either.

I got notification today that my shipment from NOMAD (pre-ordered) that "delivery to recipient failed. No further information available." The map shows the POD on the border of Kansas and Nebraska. WTF

I like the idea behind it, though the price is a bit off putting to me when so many other chargers are much less (and some are much more). Can anyone who ordered/bought one chime in on the advantages of this.

I finally received my pod after delay after delay!! My pod didn't even come with the foam insert to put under the stainless charge adapter because they sit lower then the sport charge adapter so I email nomad and this is what they said.

Geewiz. What a response!

Mine came in the mail on Tuesday btw. The final design has departed quite a bit from the original concept, that I originally signed up for. It was a real pain to insert the Apple Watch charger into the internal USB port and the chord don't wrap around as neatly as expected (at least not for the long version). Clearly spacing and clearance was not well thought out. The lower lip, for example, robbed the usable area to wrap the chord.

On the plus side, it's a lot smaller than I had imagined.

Do you think their will be any problems with the pod being made of metal that it might scratch the watch or, if you have, a metal band? Did they put some type of coating over the metal to make it not so course?

I wondered about that too ...

The heart-rate sensor casing is made of ceramic/zirconia, which won't scratch easily. Only the sensor is touching the pod with the rest of the watch sitting a couple mm off the surface. Instead the metal watch bands (if you have one) are more likely to scratch the pod itself over time. The pod surface is satin anodized. Hard to say, steel link bands may pick up faint scratches too, but you could always polish those out easily.

Hope that helps.

The sport's back is made of some sort of composite material and not ceramic/zirconia. I'm not saying it will scratch but it is made from cheaper material.

That is a horrible response. When I first ordered my watch, i put in a preorder for their stand. My CC was charged (which is against merchant account standards), but after the 'redesign', I opted to not buy this overpriced piece of twisted metal. Having product available for retail before shipping to customers was a disaster.
I thought about buying a pod, but I don't think I want to give them any of my money.

As much as i like the concept of it, i don't dare to buy it yet. Does it reliably give you 4 charges? What happens when the watch is fully charged after e.g. going to bed, does it power off so the watch then runs on battery for the remaining night?
