Hi guys,
2010 Mac Pro Quad 2.8.
1st Hard drive: 120Gb SSD (boot/apps)
2nd/3rd Hard Drive: 2 x 1Tb WD Black Caviar (Raid 0)
I think Mac Pro has a feature to put unused harddrives to sleep when not in use. This doesnt work too well when you open up for example, iTunes (stored on non-boot hdd), and have to wait 10 secs for 2nd/3rd HDDs to start up, only to be able to play the content then.
Same goes with:
- iPhoto
- Final Cut
- Anything which is stored on the non-boot HDD
Does anyone know how to get around this? (apart from the obvious.. putting those files onto the boot hdd).
I'm looking for a solution which will keep the unused hods powered on, at all times.
As always, thanks heaps
