Do the rumors of a new iMac Pro mean that they won't be refreshing regular old non-pro iMacs or will there be a cheaper iMac coming, too?

I think it just means that they are keeping the "pro" community in mind and including hardware upgrade options that would feel more relevant to them. Xeon processors, ECC RAM, things like that. The iMac line will more than likely remain as is, just will either have a new pro-oriented model in addition, or have pro-oriented upgrades to pick from.
Well I've been waiting for updates to the iMac, I hope they at least give them a little boost and new ports.
I'm sure that new ports such as USB-C, TB3, etc. will be a given. Whatever CPU and GPU options will be available, that is the big question
There already is a bit of a split between 21.5" and 27" besides just screen size. This could just be a widening or another container+performance focus split ( 21.5 , 27" , 27" similar to how had 11.9. , 13" , 13" , 15" range of MBA and MBP laptops. ).
Willing to bet that the entry level iMac probably will still be saddled with Mac laptop performance in the MBA range.
No "pro" features coming there.
The 21.5" has depended upon "iris Pro" iGPUs which are delayed for the Gen 7 ( Kaby Lake) series. So sliding into the Fall wouldn't be surprising for those.
