Anyone having any problems with widgets?

My currency converter hasn't updated the currency values since Nov 2nd, 2005, and I can't get it to do so. I've tried using Spotlight to search for the Preference (.plist) files and throwing them into the bin, but it didn't work. I've also tried to manually go through my preference files to search for anything that MIGHT have something to do with the UnitConverter widget, looked at it using the PROPERTY LIST VIEWER, and I stlll can't find the problem, nor can I fix it.

Also, my Wikipedia widget is really really slow recently. I believe this started happening after the OS 10.4.3 update, but I can't be sure.

Any ideas?

Yes, somehow the Apple currency converter broke, it looks like the Lycos feed is not being updated.

A really nice alternative converter widget is qwikCONVERT, which works kind of like Spotlight (you type in 5 eur and it shows you all the available conversions), and it's pretty fast. cmd-R to get the current rates. It uses a different source (European Central Bank) so it isn't affected by whatever ails the Apple one.

No idea what's up with the Wikipedia widget, I don't use it.

This seems to happen with many widgets. I stopped using the stock ticker widget entirely because the updates were so irregular. Sometimes you can force a widget to update by flipping it over and reentering one or more of the settings, but not always. The Wikipedia widget is slow, but lately so is Wikipedia.
