One of Google Calendars main features to me is the ability to invite people to your events, even if all they have is an email address. However inviting people via icloud doesn't work. When they try to accept/decline/maybe an invitation they are relinked to a dead icloud page.

Invites to icloud members work just fine.

Okay, so far I have found out the following:

You can only share Calendars with other iCloud users - makes sense.

You can invite everybody, but they however can't accept/decline your invite. When doing so, they end up on a "can't find iCloud page".

Is this for good, or is it because of the problems iCloud has in the start up fase?

A real pain!!

This is a real pain...migrated successfully from Google Apps contacts and calendars and the syncing is much better and more reliable under icloud...but this is a potential game stopper!!

Unfortunately most business contacts / colleagues are not part of the Apple infrastructure and much as I would like them to be they are unlikely to change. My worklflow dictates that I will have to go back to syncing clanedars via google...not good.
