I need my brush in CS3 to allow me to add the same colour to a document, instead of adding layers of colour.

So, if I was colouring a house, I'd like to be able to take my brush off and come back to it, add the same colour uniformly, instead of adding the colour and getting a different shade.

I did this months ago and can't for the life of me remember how...
 
if I'm thinking right - it should just be making sure the brush is set to normal in the 'mode' box (should be at the top) and both opacity/fade are set to 100%

You're right. I was using opacity. I told you it was a noob question!
