Hi, first post :)

I am a bit of a noob and thinking of getting into iPhone programming, but my content is all along the lines of multimedia materials that I want to compile into "books" or reference titles for iPhone and iPod.

This is probably a dumb question but how is this done exactly? I have the SDK and can see how it would be used to create applications, but how exactly are the various multimedia "books" on offer in the App store made? What format or engine do they use?

Can anyone even point me to more information on this topic?

I am guessing that the company has just created a book 'engine' in the sdk, and then have a file where they more or less just dump the text of the book in. That's how i would do it if i had a lot of books to publish at least. Would save a lot of time :)
