It's not a house, it's a home.
Hi All,

I decided that I want to learn PHP...I want to be able to test everything on my computer...

Anyways,

I am having a heck of a time trying to find a good EASY tutorial for installing MySQL and PHP on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)...I installed MySQL last night, I think, but I had to use the terminal and it got really yucky and I have no idea if I:

a) Messed something up
b) it never installed

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...can someone help?

Thanks so much!!!

The book "Blog Design Solutions" covers how to create a local testing environment using separate installs of PHP and MySQL in pretty good detail. It also covers most of the main blogging platforms if that is of any interest.

What most people do is just install MAMP.

Yep...MAMP makes it very, very simple...
