So I took my 3GS in to Apple today because the side volume buttons stopped working, they didnt have any refurbished models on hand so I got a brand new replacement.... with software 3.1.3 and 05.12.01 I think I want my broken button iphone back

Haha. I feel for you man. Last week mine started to not hold battery charge for much longer than 1-2 hours. I finally had to take it in to Apple store as well. Got a white box replacement also with 3.1.3 and 05.12.01. So sad. I had all my SHSH's backed up for my old one too as far back as 3.0. No jailbrake or unlock for me. I miss it soooooo much.

I think as time goes on, more and more will be having similar problems. I really hope a new jailbrake will be released, although think it is pretty unlikely till 4.0 released, and I really hope that they will release one then. I am actually having my doubts about it with all the new security measures Apple is putting in place. But trying to keep the faith. Either that, or Apple will release a less restricted OS, haha.

I really doubt we will see one until 4.0, Don't think they will waste their time doing it now when so many people will probably want to update to 4.0 and then have to do it all over again.
