So I just installed iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, and one of the features I was looking forward to the most is iPhone mirroring. Sadly, when I started using iPhone mirroring, it kept saying connection interrupted immediately after connecting. After trying to diagnose the cause, whether it’s my Mac, iPhone, or even my router, I have come to the conclusion that it was NordVPN on my iPhone that was causing the issue, and when I turned off NordVPN on my iPhone, it eventually started working. Yet strangely, the feature works when NordVPN is enabled on my Mac, just not when it's enabled on my iPhone. Is there a fix for this, or is it something Apple or NordVPN needs to fix themselves?

I chatted with ExpressVPN support earlier today because my Messages and Reminders app on my Mac was not syncing. They suggested that I disable this option (screenshot) and sure enough, things started syncing again. It seems that the changes they've made to the Firewall is being a PITA for a lot of people and it is affecting VPN connections as well.

Did you ever find a change in behaviour with this? I also use Nord and have found iPhone Mirroring will not connect if my MacBook Air (M2) has Nord turned on. No problem connecting with Nord activated on my iPhone 15 Pro though.

Similar to the other reply, if I turn off the Kill Switch (on the Mac) then the connection works fine with Nord activated on both devices.

I do note on the link in the other reply this firewall issue was fixed in 15.0.1. I am on 15.2 and the issue is still present.
