Hi, is this normal for the AirPods max?, the color seems to be peeling off specifically the sliding part that connects the headband and ear cups. tnx

The chrome or the black parts? I'm sorry I'm not seeing it, but it could just be the resolution of the picture.

Just a little dark spot on the plating? That wouldn't bother me at all. If the ring was cracking, that would make me act on it.

Are you sure it isn't just grease to keep the posts sliding smoothly?

Seems it occurs in the around the part where the headband connects . There is like a black paint which surronds the ball or part where the headband connects to the earcups , the right pair seems ok but the left pair seems to peel of maybe because of the flexing of the earcups? Am not sure
