What's up with all of these instances of Safari 8 hogging up RAM? How is everyone else fairing up running Safari?

Have you checked memory pressure? Mine is still in the 20-25% range, which is all that matters.

Not quite sure if it's expressed in percentage, but did you estimate based on the graph?

The graph is green, don't worry. It's nothing to worry about.

Is it using a swap to compensate? Virtual memory? I assume it will turn red if I stress it enough...

Your system is working fine and as designed. Yes the Pressure will go Yellow then Red if the system comes under strain.

As long as it is Green you have <nothing> to worry about.

If it turns Yellow occasionally you have <nothing> to worry about.

Exactly. Those Safari instances are individual tabs in Safari.
