this has never happened to me but I'm thinking it's normal to extent. I was on tumblr scrolling for a while and all of a sudden I got the black screen with spinning circle (springboard) and then I was back to home screen. Is it okay to get kicked out of an app?

Probably a silly question

I think you should expect to get kicked out of any app when you don't behave yourself, or don't treat that app with respect. :D

A silly question deserves an equally silly answer.

It just means either the app or iOS crashed. It will then attempt to fix itself by respringing the Springboard, which will bring you right back to the home screen.

It's completely normal, enjoy your phone.
