I'm rarely in Windows, but it doesn't seem too bad compared to Norton at work or McAfee at home, and I only have 512 MB in my iMac!Bern said:How do you find OneCare Live? Does it effect system performance adversely?
velocityg4 said:AVG is a good program, like danny_w said, I prefer Avast Antivirus. It is also free and uses hardly any resources. On my computer and all computers I build and repair for people I put on Avast. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
STAY AWAY FROM ANY AND ALL NORTON PRODUCTS!!! They will cause you nothing but headaches in particular their Firewall and Systemworks.
For your firewall install Zonealarm Standard. It is free and works great. Be sure to not choose pro or anti-virus.
One last thing dump internet explorer and use firefox. IE is the gateway to Malware and Viruses.

MacRumorUser said:I never use antivirus software as they generally balls up your computer, have more nag screens and stuff than any of the crap that could infect you and also have a tendancy to make a fast copmuter run like a 5 year old pc...
They also dont stop spyware etc...
What I do use is adaware personal, for spyware - though it sometimes doesnt work either.
i also use Trend House Call as its free and on the net so you just run it and load it up when you need it, and it also is always upto date.
