Avoid mixing Norton and OSX like the plague - the plague I tell you.

Symptons include:

Constant Kernel Panics
Killing Extent Allocations
General Disk Destruction

I spent two days this week recovering from using Norton for half an hour.

I own Norton SystemWorks 2.0.

And you can buy it from me really cheap. Yes, I'm serious. Contact me if you're interested.

Whatever

I have Drive 10 and Norton Systemworks 2.0. When I have had problems, Drive 10 has been useless. While I agree about the kernel panics with NS, booting from it and running NDD has been the only thing that has saved my ass a few times. Watching what both do--in terms of optimizing and troubleshooting--NS is much better, IMHO. It fixes many more problems and optimizes faster.

A good rule of thumb: don't install utility software--just run it from the CD. It fixes more and saves trouble. I personally don't install anything that adds .kext's unless I absolutely have to.
