Hi all,
I own a Synology DS110j which contains my music library (files). Files are accessed without a problem through a AFP share that is mounted at boot time as a "Login Item" setting.
I have a Music library that worked perfectly fine until I updated to 10.15.2. After that I was unable to modify any file in the library (add artwork, change genre,...). I was able to add and delete songs though. Anytime I tried to change a file the applications stalls and I cannot access the NAS anymore until I reboot.

I decided that It could be a file sharing error on the NAS side. So I reset the NAS side (stopped AFP, set a new share with file, and star everything again). I then mounted the share with the same results/issues.

Next, I tried to create a new library with a reduced set of files located in the same NAS. The process cannot be completed and iTunes stops responding when selecting the network share as the library location. Even when creating a new local library and then changing the files locations in preferences the application also stop responding.

Anything that can help me

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Have you tried connecting via SMB rather than AFP? Apple seems to be moving away from AFP.

I found that since upgrading to Catalina, I have had to connect to my Synology NAS with cifs://192.x.x.x rather than smb://192.x.x.x, I think because my Synology 207 is too old to support the newer versions of SMB.

I thought of that, but did not try. I will, and let you know
Thank you so much for your hint.
Cheers.
