Okay,
I've seen lots of people including myself asked about this question, but most of those thread doesn't really give definite answer so here i want to make it cleear and hopefully some windows expert might be able to answer it.
My machine is Late 2008 MBP
Spec:
2.4, 4GB, 500GB, 256MB VRAM.
and i always been a loyal Mac user, so my knowledge on windows is very very limited.
The reason i bought MBP to replace my Black Book is because i want to play some games that requires the Graphic card and of course windows.
And i'm planning use the windows only for gaming, and some backing up and upgrading nokia phones. Other more serious task i always use my mac partition, cause like i said, i'm a mac user, i only need windows for my games.
and i'm planning to install it using Boot Camp.
Question is,
Which Windows is more recommended for my use ?
Vista or XP ? 32Bit or 64Bit ? Windows 7 is out of the question cause it's still beta, and i need something that reliable and stable so i won't need to reinstall everything every now and then.
So far i've gather few information from the net to answer my own question here. But any other user experiences is very much welcomed.
1) XP 32bit:
+Small space needed on the harddisk
+Familiar and Simpler user interface
+Lighter on resources, so i guess it will not hog your system more than Vista
+Some Said XP runs cooler on MBP than Vista
-No support for 4GB RAM, by default XP only recognized 2GB and there's a "tweaks" that enabled it to recognized up to 3GB including your VRAM.
-OLD and boring UI
2)VISTA 64Bit:
+Nice Aero UI
+Some Says it runs "natively" on late 2008 MB or MBP cause their CPU is based on 64Bit architecture.
+can recognized 4GB of RAM
-Some says it runs hotter thatn XP
-large harddisk space is needed
-will hog your system resources more.
about XP 64Bit i wont talk much cause very rare people use it.
and Vista 32bit has more negative views compared to XP 32 and Vista 64 so i wont talk about it either.
So which windows is actually faster and more reliable on late 2008 MBP?
can anyone help ?
Some said XP 32bit cause vista 64 is a hog on system resources, and runs hotter
but
Some said vista 64 cause xp 32 cant detect more than 2 / 3GB of RAM thus the hardware is not fully ulitlise and thus makes it runs slower, etc.
So please any expert here help me cause i'm buying windows soon and i really don't want to buy the wrong windows.
and please note in my case i just want the more stable and faster windows for my gaming needs.
and my MBP has 4GB of RAM.
thx, i hope this thread can help you guys that's having same questions as i do and good luck to all you guys here.
