I just got an email stating that applecare was removed from my order because "Apple is not authorized to sell the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad
in your state at this time and we have removed the item from your recent
order".

This happen to anyone else? I ordered it this morning with my iPad and case. This doesn't seem right since I have AppleCare on my laptop.

Certain states like FL and SC have special rules for Apple Cares (and more generally warranties, etc.). If you notice, the standard Apple Care Protection Plans usually have some subsidiary that operates in those special states. It is possible that Apple hasn't fully set these up yet, and hence Apple care is not available at this point in time. You have 1 yr to purchase Apple care, so check back in a few months.
