My iPad is filled up with photos and videos. I don’t wish to delete footage... what are my options?

You can use iCloud Photos and select “optimize iPad storage”. There are plans from 50gb to 2tb. Another option, update your photos and videos to Google Photos and then remove the least important ones for you (or large videos).

iCloud costs from $1 to $10. Google Photos is unlimited and free, however the photos and videos are compressed and the quality is reduced.

If you don’t want to use the cloud, connect a hard drive or flash drive to your iPad, and copy your photos. Then you can delete the least important ones from your iPad and free up space.

Using iCloud or a flash drive do I get to see the stored footage from my iPad just as if I hadn’t deleted them and they are still there?

iCloud Photo Library basically moves the original out and leaves you with a much smaller preview file. Works great, and you don’t support an ad company keen to mine your data.

I prefer not to have lower quality previews. But i still haven't understood... using iCloud, do i get to see the files i have transferred there as if they are still in my iPad or are they just stored in the Cloud and to see them i need to get them back in my iPad?

The full quality original is stored in iCloud with a thumbnail on the device. Thumbnails for everything stored in iCloud will be viewable on the iPad. If you want to view the original the iPad will download it from iCloud for viewing. Another option is to buy an iPad with more storage. All that media should be stored somewhere else in case your iPad gets stolen, breaks, or otherwise trashed.

So how should I work with the iCloud? Should I store on the cloud all the videos and delete yhe ones from my iPad, in order to make vacancy’s to place the newer footage?

If you use iCloud Photo Library it will move the originals into the cloud automatically. I recommend you explore Apple’s website and read up on the feature.
