Not enough RAM?

1.5 years old.
MBP
2.16ghz/100gb@7200/256mb and.... 1 gig of ram.

I'm feeling like the Ram is really, really holding this computer back. I'm pretty tough on it, and i feel like it would behove it greatly to get the extra gig. Anyone have suggestions for how to best go about it? I still have about 9 months of applecare left, and I don't want to void it accidentally.

replace the ram your self as i would think that is not going to void your apple care

I have a MBP 2.0ghz Core Duo. I originally bought it with 1gb of ram. I had been using it with that much for almost a year. Then recently updated to 2gb of ram. And what a difference it makes! Everything is so snappy now and runs perfect!
You can pick yourself up 2gb of ram cheaply now. And to put it into the MBP is easy peasy! Apple have instruction's on their website and they also have them printed in the manual you got with your Mac

i have a macbook pro core duo that came with stock 512mb ram. i added an extra 1 gig and its perfect now. almost a bit too much as i always have about 1/2 a gig free/inactive. but when i use parallels thats a different story. wouldnt mid having 2 gigs.

Buy the extra RAM. You have no idea what a difference it makes. I just upgraded my iMac from 1GB to 3GB. It was only when I was sat there with EyeTV playing in one corner, browsing the iTMS whilst Toast burned another copy of a DVD I'd made, all with Folding@Home running in the background that I realised just how smooth it all was. Extra RAM really makes a Mac fly.
