I am an existing at&t customer with a family plan. The documentation that they gave me for the family plans states that for 109.99/month you get the 700 minute plan on two lines. When going through the activation process in iTunes it only gave me the option to pay $20 more to my current plan to add the iPhone data plan. In the their quest to oversimplify the process they kind of corner you. So...i'm going to have to sort this out later.

Time to play with my phone!

That was kinda well understood earlier this week when they released the plans - existing customers would just pay $20-40 more over their existing plan for added iPhone functionality.

The plans prices should be the same - Engadget did a through analysis of their cost of iPhone voice+data plans vs an existing voice + iPhone data and they were identical.
