I sent my MBP in on the 11th, it got to the repair facility on the 13th. Two weeks and one day later, on the 26th, they finally finished. I was not happy at that point because a screen replacement should not take two weeks.

They contacted me on the 25th saying the repair was finished and that they would sent it overnight and that it would arrive Friday. They posted the tracking number on the repair status page but it has not worked at all. I called DHL on Friday night and they stated it was still with Apple.

No progress was made Friday or today and the tracking number still doesn't work. I wouldn't be surprised if the MBP was still with Apple. This is one unhappy customer.

I've heard screen replacements taking 3 days and other taking a month. Regardless, a repair shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks in my opinion.

If you are already unhappy now just wait till the MacBook Pro returns and you realise they stuck a post it on it saying it is checked through and within specifications.

haha that would totally suck but they told me the screen was replaced sucessfully

has anyone waited longer than this?

Yes. In 2002 I had a terrible ordeal with Apple trying to get an iPod repaired. It 4 weeks (literally) just to get a box to send it in and then another 4 to get it back.

There was no lack of communication on my part, I called every few days to say, "wtf" to them.

Eventually I got a replacement iPod that broke 3 months later, just days outside of it's 90-day replacement warranty.

I requested a repair from Apple on 7/25 and I got the machine back on 7/30 (it would have been even faster if DHL delivered on weekends. That being said, the problem I sent the thing in for wasn't fixed.

Go figure

I once sent in my mbp to get it repaired, and not only did they not fix anything, but it came back nor even working properly. I had to turn around and send it in again. All the apple rep could say was sorry. I was rather miffed as he didn't seem to really give a ****. I would just call call and refuse to hang up until you get something accomplished.

I know when I sent my PB in to have the screen replaced, it took nearly three weeks because the screen needed was not in stock. When I started to encounter video anomalies, I sent it back in and the turnaround from shipment to them to me receiving it was literally 3 days as all that was replaced was a video cable.

After reading this, I kinda regard buying Apple,.... I just hope I don't have a lemon. My previous laptop is a Fujitsu. I've used it for 4 years straight without any problem. On the 4th year, the HD was corrupted. So I replace it. But i only use the new HD (Samsung) for about 1 year and it corrupt again.

Don't buy Samsung. But overall, I was quite impress with Fujitsu. I don't mind buying another Fujitsu if their design get an overhaul.

I'm a little disappointed with Apple in term of their QA. Mac is a great machines, design and software (OSX) wise. I just hope my replacement is not refurbished and a lemon.
