Ever since iOS15 I am not getting audio alerts for most of the text messages I receive. All my settings are correct. Notifications are on, nothing is silenced, focus is correct, nobody is muted etc. I’ll look down at my phone and see 5 messages there that I received no notification for, and this includes my iPhone, iPad Pro and my Apple Watch. It’s actually getting me into trouble because people are thinking I’m ignoring them. I was on the phone with AppleCare for 45+ minutes today and they had no solution.

This is driving me insane. Please get your **** together, Apple.

I have the same issue and it's really vexing. My newest theory is that somehow my iPhone 13 Pro is not always getting the notification first! If an iPad in our home signed in to my AppleID has it's screen on, not even with Messages open, it seems to pick up the notification AND my iPhone will get the badge but no sound or haptics.

Update, I now believe the problem is that my AppleWatch is intercepting the audio notifications from my iPhone when the lock screen is on. This morning, when I was playing around with it with my wife's phone, I was NOT wearing my AppleWatch. As soon as I put it back on my wrist, the problem resumed.

Holy smokes! I have been irritated by this behavior for months. I never even considered it was the watch.

Gotta be kidding me…
I started a separate thread earlier today before seeing this one. Here are some answers I have received, which frustratingly say that what we are experiencing is the expected behavior of an iPhone/AppleWatch pair. https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-lock-screen-when-wearing-applewatch.2332238/

However, I may have stumbled upon a work around. In the iOS Watch App, I changed the notification settings to "Send to Notification Center." A few test texts seem to let my iPhone play audio notifications from the Lock Screen. I think I am going to keep the sound on for my AppleWatch now just in case. Before, it was always off.

Finally, this problem only started for me upon receipt of my iPhone 13 Pro. My old iPhone 12 Pro did not have this problem even when I was running early public betas of iOS 15.
