Bought a new nano, connected to Itunes, was not recognized. All my purchases are on file but wouldn't let me download. Looked for an update that I didn't have, I'm up to date. Please help.

Are you running the most recent version of iTunes? Also, are you using this on Windows or OS X?

Assuming this is in OSX, check to make sure the connection to the iPod Nano is secure. Also, make sure that the USB port your using is a 2.0. My nano wouldn't register on a 1.1 USB port.

I needed to re-authorize my Mac on iTunes after the iTunes7 and QT upgrade. This could cause your problem I think
