Heya =)
Lately I purchased a refurbished 4gb iPhone at the Apple Store.
I am completely terrified with the thought of getting a 1.1.2 brick (joking =) but it would be nice to get a ready to use phone..
My question is, is there any chance I might get an iPhone that was manufactured as a 1.1.1 or lower and then fixed & upgraded during the apple certified refurbishing process to 1.1.2 so it is possible to unlock it now? Because as far as I know, the problem with OOB 1.1.2's is a hardware chip. If so, what are the options and how would I check it once I get a hold of it? do they change the week of manufacturing during the refurbishing process?

Huge thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure if its a refurb it will have 1.1.2. I belive the refurb part means a total reflash of the firmware.
