I am trying to transfer over text messages from my Mom's old Samsung S10 to a Samsung S22+ and it always says too big.

The old phone was 64 GB and the new phone is 128 GB so it makes no sense.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It only says this for text messages or sms messages.

How do you transfer it? To transfer form Android to Android, I usually use the SMS Backup & Restore app from the Play Store. It backs up your SMS to Google Drive, and restoring them on the new phone is as easy restoring from the GDrive backup.

As another has mentioned download smart switch and install it on both phones. Use can use galaxy store or Google play.

Then follow directions in the app to transfer the messages and any other data you want. Works very well to transfer messages. Maybe you need to use a cable instead of Bluetooth.

Smart switch is what I tried where it said it was too big.
