I’m really not sure this notch thing is coming but of course it could happen theoretically. It would certainly be a weird annoyance for a device that is meant to be held landscape or portrait and personally I’m happy with the size of the bezels on the current Pro models.

Instead of seeing it as a notch why not consider it an extra line of real-estate, which you didn't have before, that just happens to have a small gap in the middle? That's literally what it is on the MBPs.

But the next redesign will have even thinner bezels most likely. So it could have a notch to accomodate for the thinner bezels.

I hope they don't, bezels on iPad are fine, and it would be weird to use it on landscape with a notch at the right/left.

I know iPhones can be used in landscape but, in the end, the normal use is in portrait, as they deleted the landscape orientation that the "plus" models had in the home screen.

No because you need somewhere to rest your hands while holding it. Its actually the least likely apple product to have a notch for this reason.

I’m guessing they expect this to happen, know they can’t change it even if they wanted, and made their peace with it. Apple ships millions of products with notches and folks buy them anyway, regardless of folks like us who dislike the look of the thing.

I'm looking forward to it. One of the things I love about my iPad Pro 11' is that I can use it with my 4k monitor and have instant Face-ID with it on my desk with a tablet stand (using it with a USB C dock with a mouse/keyboard/etc). Face ID is something I wish MacBooks had. I don't mind if the notch comes to the iPad.

Yep. If one hates the notch that much, there are other perfectly serviceable options.

I have absolutely no problem sticking with the 2021 iPad Pro for a long time. If I didn't have the 2021 iPP already, I'd happily buy one discounted from the Apple refurb store if the new models come out with notch.

iPhones and MacBooks have a “right way up” to use them. The whole point of the iPad is that it doesn’t.

They’ll never make an iPad with iPhone 13 or 2021 MacBook Pro style bezels and a notch. I just don’t see it.

I’m hoping the 2022 MacBook Air has an M1 iMac style white bezel all the way around and no notch.

Looks like Samsung will be adding a notch to its new s8 tablet… Notches on anything other than a phone is completely ridiculous… I would never buy one. The bezels on the current iPad pros are the perfect size.

That only applies to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra which is basically a 15” tablet. I do agree with others, I have never been a fan of notches on any device.

There has been nothing wrong with iPad Pro (2018 to current) or iPad Air’s bezels.
